Hard life for Arab Americans

Wow, I knew things were tough, but not this tough. How these guys just don't pack up and head back home, I don't know. I could never do what they do, especially being that far from my family......masakeeen, indeed.

I don't think this is an arab american thing, lots of immigrants from 3rd world countries go through similar hardships....so it's an immigrant thing.

The average arab amerian is better off financially than the average american.

It's definitely an immigrant's story and everyone has gone through it while trying to build a life here. They definitely couldn't do that in their country and if they did they may face a stigma in doing that type of work. Another reason for posting is that I think people from outside the US, think it's a bed of roses here.

I also agree 100% with your last statment. I attribute it to the central role family, even the extended one, plays in our culture. We as Arab Americans, support one other and tend to help our extended family in ways others might not do. I could never think of having so much without sharing with my siblings or family. But as I look around me, the disparity between parents and children or even brothers and sisters is quite evident in other ethnicities. One brother could live like a king while the other is living pay check to pay check.
